How It Works

How Track A Plane Works

Find what you need. Showcase what you offer. Every step of browsing, connecting and listing on Track A Plane, explained.

The platform in 60 seconds

01

Browse free

Anyone can search aircraft, parts, aviation real estate, services and jobs. No account is needed to look.

02

Connect through the site

Inquiries are sent through Track A Plane’s contact forms. Sellers’ email addresses and phone numbers are not shown on their listings.

03

List with the right plan

Choose a free or paid listing, a dealer account for several aircraft, or a Parts Exchange inventory plan.

Track A Plane is an online marketplace and advertising platform. It does not own, sell, broker, inspect or guarantee the items listed. Buyers and sellers complete their own transactions and due diligence.

For buyers & visitors

Find it, check it, contact the seller

Four steps from your first search to a safe conversation with the seller.

  1. Step 1

    Find

Browse a category, or search parts by part number.

Open Aircraft, Real Estate, Services or Jobs from the menu, or go to the Parts Exchange.

    • Aircraft: in Refine Results, choose Aircraft Type, then Manufacturer, then Model, and press Apply Filters.
    • Parts: search by part number, alternate part number or description. Results come from every registered parts vendor at once.
    • Recently Sold: see aircraft and real estate recently sold through Track A Plane, from the Aircraft or Real Estate menu.
Browse page with the Refine Results filters and aircraft cards
Browse → Refine Results: Aircraft Type, Manufacturer, Model.
  2. Step 2

    Evaluate

Read the listing, the documents and the seller’s page.

Each listing shows photos, the description, specifications and the asking price.

    • Documents such as logbooks, records and resumes open after you sign in.
    • Seller Page: every seller has a public page with all of their active listings. Businesses can show the year they have been in business since.
    • Sale badges: AVAILABLE means for sale. NEGOTIATING means the seller is in talks with a buyer, and you can still send an inquiry. SOLD means it is no longer available.
Aircraft listing page with price, sale badges and contact form
A listing: photos, price, status badges and specifications.
  3. Step 3

    Connect

Send an inquiry or a parts quote request through the site.

Use the Contact About This Listing form on the listing (the Contact Seller button takes you to it). Track A Plane emails your inquiry to the lister, and your contact details are shared with them so they can reply to you.

    • Parts: tick the parts you need and press Request Quote from Selected. Each vendor receives only their own parts. You need to sign in to request a quote.
    • When you are signed in, you receive an email copy of each request, and all of them are saved in My Profile → My Requests.
    • A quote request asks for price and availability. It does not reserve or buy the part.
Parts Exchange search results with parts selected for a quote
Parts Search: tick parts, then Request Quote from Selected.
  4. Step 4

    Buy safely

Verify everything before any money changes hands.

Track A Plane does not take part in the sale. Before you pay:

    • Inspect the aircraft, property or part, or have a qualified professional do it.
    • Review the records, title and ownership, and confirm who you are dealing with.
    • Use a trusted escrow, title or closing service for large transactions.

Read Safety & Security for more tips, and use Report a Listing if something looks wrong.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a listing stay live?

Each listing stays live for its listing period: 30 days on current plans, and 28 days for Aircraft Wanted. Use Review & Renew in My Listings to start a new period. Renewing does not charge you.

What happens after I submit a listing?

It shows as Pending Review in My Listings until our team approves it. Once approved, it goes live in Browse and on your Seller Page.

My listing was rejected. What do I do?

Open My Listings, read what needs correcting, and press Edit & Resubmit. The same listing goes back for review, with no new listing and no new charge.

Do buyers see my email address or phone number?

No. Your contact details are not shown on your listings. Buyers contact you through the site, and each inquiry arrives by email with the buyer’s details so you can reply.

What is the difference between Sold, Mark Fulfilled and Cancel?

Sold is for aircraft and real estate you sold. It moves the listing to the Recently Sold page. Mark Fulfilled is for a listing that did its job, such as a filled job or a found aircraft. Cancel takes a listing off the market so you can reactivate it later. All three close inquiries and free the plan slot.

Does marking a listing Sold free my plan slot?

Yes. A sold listing no longer counts toward your plan’s listing limit. If a deal falls through, you can switch it back to Available when you have a free slot.

Can I upgrade my plan in the middle of a term?

Yes. Use Upgrade on your plan. Your current end date stays the same, and you pay only the price difference for the rest of your current billing month, or of your term if you paid ahead.

What is Pay Ahead?

On eligible 12-month plans, you can pay for the year up front and receive free months. The current offer and savings are shown on the plan cards.

Does a parts quote request reserve the part?

No. A quote request asks the vendor for price and availability. The vendor replies to you by email, and nothing is reserved until you agree terms with them.

Where do I find my invoices and agreements?

In My Profile → Purchased Services. They are also emailed to you when you purchase a plan.
